Thank you everyone.  Please forgive my self indulgence, but I didn’t enjoy these little milestones the first time around and I’m giving myself permission to have some fun this time, and my greatest wish for each of you is that you give yourself the same privilege.  Please do feel free to enjoy yourself.  Being a writer is a blessing, and especially since most of us will never turn pro or get remunerated for writing, why not have a little fun with it?  While it’s free, in my opinion only, the gift that is Tumblr also comes with a little responsibility, especially if you’ve been on here for a while and have received some of the wonderful benefits of being a writer and blogger.  Of course you’re free to do as you please, but no one wins when we use the power of our words to hurt others.  Words are indeed most powerful, and hurling them in anger or cruelty is rarely if ever a good idea.  My all time favorite spiritual writing by far is Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. Part of it reads “Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.  Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.”   I personally believe if we but change the word career to writing, this statement would fit perfectly into Tumblr.  If you love to write, I do hope you’ll follow your heart and do so, but I also pray you use your talents kindly, not only toward others, but to yourself as well.  Thank you again my friends.  Being mean in either words or deedsgenerally serves no purpose at allbuilding us up by putting others downonly succeeds in making us smallPlease, don’t be small.  You were born to be large and magnificent.  May love and kindness be your guiding lights.

Being mean in either words or deeds
generally serves no purpose at all
building us up by putting others down
only succeeds in making us small

Please, don’t be small.  You were born to be large and magnificent.  May love and kindness be your guiding lights.
